There’s no doubt in our minds that Black Friday 2020 is going to be way different from Black Fridays of previous years. We’ve been keeping an eye on updates surrounding the holiday shopping season and on today’s TribeTalk we’re breaking down some of the trending predictions.
What We Know So Far
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably picked up on the huge upswing in eCommerce spending this year.
Since many people are avoiding stores for even everyday items, analysts have seen eCommerce spending go through the roof because the spend includes things like grocery shopping, cleaning supplies, and other typical “run to the store real quick” items.
Some other insights:
- At this point in the year, analysts are predicting an 80% increasing in eCommerce shopping from 2019. That’s major!
- Doorbusters and other big draw sales in brick and mortar stores have been effectively cancelled this year. That means we can expect that deals shopping won’t be happening in physical stores, but online.
- We’re telling all of our clients to try to get people in their funnel ASAP, before the market is flooded with holiday shopping deals.
Handling Stock Shortages
Don’t let out of stock notices get you down. There are ways to get momentum going even when you’re experiencing inventory shortages.
Remember to:
- Set up wish lists, notifications, or offer pre-orders
- Collect contact information of customers if you are able to keep them in your world for re-targeting
- Get people in your sales funnel early and often. Avoid the too little, too late, top costly dilemma.
