All right, today we're gonna review a nifty little trick that lets you run a call-to-action in your Facebook ad campaign, that lets people call you directly, it specifies a number.

People can tap it and call you directly.

This is great, maybe for a local business where you serve kind of a geographical area, or if your end goal for lead generation is just to get people on the phone and you're usually booking a time to do that.

This is a great way to kind of short circuit that and get people to call you directly.

Now if you've ever done anything with AdWords or anything similar, you've seen that this has been around for a long time, but it's a little bit counter-intuitive on how to find it in Facebook, hence the video here.

Bear with me, this will take just a minute or two, and you'll be up and running with your own click-to-call ads within Facebook.

Facebook Campaigns

Okay, so first we're going to click to create a new campaign and from there we're going to start with the awareness objective of reach.

Don't choose anything else on here but choose the reach objective under awareness.

Once this loads, I'm going to actually skip through a couple things that I would normally do when setting up a Facebook ad campaign but I really just wanna kinda get to the goods here.

I'm assuming you guys have some experience setting up your targeting options here.

Whether this is for your business or for a client's business, you're gonna choose all the normal targeting options, choose your Facebook page, and choose your audience.

What we will do here though, is we wanna scroll down and edit the placements because this is only gonna work on a mobile device.

Click edit placements, and then just go ahead and click mobile only.

Once you've selected mobile only you'd wanna go through and again finish your budgeting, finish your ad targeting options, but for the sake of this video, we're gonna skip down to the actual ad format itself.

Now when you get to the ad format section, this is typically where you're gonna choose creative, you know, the ad type carousel video.

But what we're gonna do here is scroll down until you see the boxes where you can enter text and start writing your copy. Click this little button, and add a website URL.

Now normally, these awareness or reach ads are just that, they're meant for getting eyeballs, meant for getting your brand out there, so there's not really any inherent kind of calls to action.

To enable that, we need to click add a website URL. Once you do that, you'll see that the call to action button selection comes back, and we're looking for call now.

When I select call now, we need to enter a phone number. So we'll put in a number here, and it will automatically format it.

Now we can see there's a call now button here, which anybody who sees this in their news feed, if they tap that, it's gonna call the number that I provided in this field right here.

This is still not maybe as advanced as some call tracking software you may have used, or again, even on AdWords, where you can measure based on different call durations. But, it is a nice way to start getting some of those calls and being able to track some of those calls in your Facebook ad reports.

I hope this is helpful. Run it for things like retargeting, maybe try that.

Again, if you're a local business, you kinda have different objectives altogether, but it'd be interesting to see how much call volume you can get, from this type of call to action, and then of course being able to measure it is really helpful in understanding your return on investment.

Good luck, and man the phones.
